Six Safety Goals for 2026

DF SafetyWorkplace Safety

The DF Safety team prioritizes the importance of safety, ensuring your business and workplace is doing the same. As we look forward to kicking off the new year, we want to take this opportunity to highlight six safety goals to help make for a safer 2026.

Be Aware of Safety Fatigue

Most companies invest in keeping their employees safe. However, over time, even the most safety-conscious teams can start to fail. It’s not that employees don’t care, it’s that they stop noticing. This gradual loss of attention and urgency toward safety procedures is often referred to as safety fatigue, or safety complacency. If it’s not recognized early, it can quietly impact your entire safety program and put your workers and business in danger.

Educate Workers

Safety talks are a key part of protecting your workers. These discussions are short, educational meetings that focus on a specific topic related to health or safety. The goal is to be informal, but informative, to ensure workers are reminded regularly about the importance of safety. While these chats don’t replace proper training and education, they are essential for staying up to date and current.

Inspect Equipment and PPE

Schedule regular equipment inspections to make sure all your equipment and gear are in excellent condition and meets required safety codes. If there are improvements that need to be made, take the necessary steps to have everything in proper, working order. Educate your staff about what to look for and flag any irregularities.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a used as a vital defense against serious injury. However, to keep workers safe, it must be used correctly and consistently. No matter your industry, PPE mistakes can compromise protection, productivity, and compliance.

Build Strong Relationships

The connections we form with others are essential. By cultivating strong relationships at work, we enhance our enjoyment, boost productivity through collaboration, and become valued team members, creating a positive work atmosphere for ourselves and those around us.

Prioritize Conflict Resolutions

Conflict in the workplace is inevitable. Any time two or more people come together, they will eventually disagree about something. While some conflict can be healthy, it is often an indication that there is something wrong. The good news about conflict is that it is usually based on caring. The more someone defends their point of view in an argument, the more they care. But if conflict is allowed to fester and grow without a resolution, it can lead to serious problems such as threats and even physical violence.

Comply with Regulations

It is important to ensure all policies and procedures are checked regularly and updated as needed. Review the last year and consider how you might improve protocols in and around your business. When it comes to safety, it is crucial not to become complacent. Review all regulations to ensure you are informed and properly following compliance in your industry.
